Central Argument
Europe's interconnectedness enables free movement, fostering a sense of a cohesive, "one big country." Yet, this ease of travel and communication brings a rising threat from globalisation and commercialisation: the erosion of unique national distinctiveness. This is particularly evident in music, where globalised sounds, such as Western pop or K-pop, increasingly dominate the Top 50 charts, blurring the unique voices of individual nations. What we have to focus on is the unique cultural markets that make each country’s identity a unique puzzle piece. Eventually, all these pieces form a bigger picture, forming a complete and diverse European puzzle that is united in its diversity, making its own shared melody.
