January
After my research in November/December, I have reached the following conclusions academically:
I have identified key theories and selected ideas that best support my project concept.
I wrote a mini-framework explaining why my documentary is important and how it aligns with my learning goals. This is crucial for attracting collaborators like actors and film crew, and it will also be useful for my final presentation.
I also identified the visual storytelling techniques, such as pacing, framing, and emotional triggers, that I will apply in my video.
My next step will be:
Finalise my storyboard: sketch or outline every scene of the mini-documentary.
Choose filming locations and timing: find quiet, reflective spaces that match my theme.
Plan my resources: what camera or phone I'll use, editing software, props, lighting, and backup plan.
Create a visual moodboard: finalise my colour palette, tone, and font style.
Set my filming schedule: decide which scenes to shoot first in February.
